I hold a PhD in sociology and conduct research and lectures aimed at providing cultural theoretical explanations for ideology and emotions, among other topics. I am a full-time researcher at the Institute of Convergence Knowledge and Society at Dong-A University. I am also an editorial board member of the cultural theory journal "Culture/Science" and serve as an operating member for the Critical Sociological Association of Korea and the Korean Association of Cultural Studies. My publications include "The World of 18"(2014), a book on youth subcultures, and "Fanatic's Guide"(2016), a collection of critiques on popular culture. I have also written articles such as "We Do Not Discriminate: 'Gender Equalism' and Anti-Multiculturalism as Evolved Forms of Hate Discourse"(2018) and "Platform and 'So-jung': The Limit Situation of the Old Myth of Contestation between Production and Consumption"(2017).

He is a Senior Researcher at the Seoul National University Asia Center(PhD in Sociology). He served as a research professor at the Institute of China-Korea Relations at Wonkwang University and at the Institute of Labor History at Sungkonghoe University, and is currently a Senior Researcher at the Asia Center, Seoul National University. Based on sociological theory and methodology, research on the Chinese labor system and socioeconomic change is being conducted. Major books and translations include 『Subaltern China』(2025), 『China as seen through labor』(2019), 『Artificial Intelligence, Platform, Future of Labor』(2023), 『Social Economy and Publicness』(2021), 『Dying for an iPhone』(2021), 『The future of China's New Workers』(2018), and 『The formation of China's New Workers』(2017). Major academic papers include "China’s Internal and External Perceptions and Ideological Struggles during the Korea-Japan Agreement: The Formation of the ‘57-year Regime’ and the Prelude to the Cultural Revolution", "China’s Rural Migrant Workers in Mobility: Towards a Labor·Cultural· Bio-Political Analysis", "The Articulation (Im)Possibilities of Platform Capitalism, Platform Cooperativism, and China's Platform Socialism", "Beyond 'Management' and 'Rights' to the City: Political and Social Implications of the Beijing Worker's House Commune", and "The Development of Digital Economy in China and the Transformation of Labor-Society", etc.

Jin Won Chung is a lecturer of Sociology at the Catholic University of Korea. She received her M.A. in Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences (QMSS) from Columbia University and her Ph.D. in Sociology from Emory University. She worked as a visiting assistant professor in the department of Sociology at Emory University from 2014 to 2015 and a research professor in the Graduate School of International Studies at Korea University from 2017 to 2021. Her research interests lie in the institutionalization process by which social and cultural practices become widely accepted. Her current research areas include digital and social media use, social networks, and social integration.
Her publications have appeared in various peer reviewed journal such as Korean Journal of Sociology, Journal of Cybercommunication Academic Society, Development and Society, Journal of broadcasting and Electronic Media, Plos One.
